About the Parish

History of the Parish

Our parish was founded at the beginning of the twentieth century, when the growing population of this part of Belgrade felt the need for a church of its own. The cornerstone was laid in 1923, and the church was consecrated on the feast of the Dormition in 1931.

The church is dedicated to the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos. It was built in the Serbo-Byzantine style, following the tradition of the Morava school.

The Parish Today

Today the parish gathers several thousand faithful. Alongside regular services, the parish hall hosts catechism classes for children, choir rehearsals, lectures, and charitable work.
